In the English Premiership, Tottenham Hotspur has bought defense man Jonathan Woodgate for a reported £7, roughly 14 million dollars U.S. This puts a cap on all the speculation that he would be headed for Arsenal and his former club Newcastle United.
Middlesbrough allowed the transfer to be done because it was clear Woodgate wanted out or at the very least a change.
Eurosport got a quote from Middlesbrough boss, stating “It seems he wanted to head off”.
ESPN is also reporting that the deal will be finalized sometime tomorrow, Tuesday January 29.
Best of Luck Woody!
