You will be amazed to know that Cabaye was closely linked with the Magpies since helping Lille winning the French League and the cup double in the last season.

This 25 year old soccer player has been capped by France to make his international debut against Norway in August last year. It should be noted that Cabaye flew into Newcastle just a few days ago that too after helping France to win over Poland with a 1-0 in Gdansk . It was his fourth cap of a superhit soccer career for Les Bleus.

Dimitar-Berbatov- Manchester United and Liverpool have had this legacy of being great rivals and every match between these two sides always produces some scintillating football. The latest one was a premier league game and this one also managed to live up to the legacy. United defeated Liverpool 3-2, but no become an awful lot of drama and some breathtaking performances. The star of night was Bulgarian striker, Dimitar Berbatov who scored a hattrick and one of the three goals was an absolute blinder.

Bayern Munich managed to pull off a major upset when they knocked Manchester United out of the UEFA Champions League. Alex Ferguson, the manager of the English team was absolutely lost for words in the presentation that followed the match. He could not come up with any genuine reason for his team’s dismal performance. He thought that the false protest from the Germans which led to Rafael’s send off was the turning point of the match.

A massive crowd present at the London Wembley Stadium witnessed Manchester United retain the England’s League Cup as they defeated Aston Villa 2-1. The header by Rooney was his 28th goal of the season and also proved to be decisive in the end. Rooney was relieved to have scored the winning goal although he admitted that he had some difficulty with his sore knee.

Leeds thanks to the 19th minute goal by Jermaine Beckford won their first game at the Old Trafford after 1981. No other team had been able to knock Manchester United out of the third round apart from Bournemouth who achieved the feat in 1984. David Beckham dreaming of a return to Manchester United

David Beckham who left the Manchester United in 2003 for Real Madrid is dreaming of making a return to his old club. Beckham has made it clear that he would like to play at Old Trafford before the draw for the knockout stages of Champions League takes place. There is a good probability that Manchester United get paired with AC Milan after the draw. Beckham is set for a second loan spell and is expected to return to Milan in January and there is a good chance that English champions may face Manchester United in the succeeding month.

The proficiency of Manchester United, the most dominating domestic team, has been exposed during final of Champions League. With the team winning the Premier League successively for the third time, they equaled the record of 18 league titles with Liverpool. While Chelsea bagged the third position, Arsenal maintained the 4th position. Still being one of the best teams in the region, Manchester United has proved itself again by winning third successive league title.

The Football Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year Award had eight footballers in the voting list. The team’s competency can be judged from the multiple nominations. Out of these 8 sportsmen, unbelievably six are from Manchester United team. The six lucky players responsible for making the team reach heights are Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Michael Carrick, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney. Though Steven Gerrard from Liverpool bagged the first prize, thanks to split voting.
