The two players have confirmed to the agreement terms at the club and would address the media where they are scheduled to be presented soon.

Morientes, the 33 year old striker was a major reason behind the success of Monaco and their wonderful run where they reached the final of the Champions League in 2004. Morientes is all set to be reunited with Didier Deschamps. Fernando Morientes has been a prolific scorer over the years and has 27 goals in 47 matches for Spain to his credit. He has been a frontman for teams like the Liverpool, Real Madrid and Valencia. Deschamps denied having any concerns about the striker’s age and is reportedly being signed on a free transfer for two years.

The OM boss said that Morientes was in a wonderful shape physically and has the desire to perform at the premier level. Deschamps pointed out that Morientes would have to be prepared and gave the examples of Del Piero and Inzaghi who have shown excellent performance on the field in spite of being almost 35 years old. He stressed that Morientes would be a wonderful addition to Ligue 1.

The other signing Fabrice Abriel who is considered as Mr. Versatility for his ability to play in different positions and adapt to many systems has reportedly been signed for €2.5 million. He even has the ability to play as a secondary striker. The OM team is definitely hoping for a change in their fortune with these additions.
